The London Colombian Film Festival is organised by COL FILMS LIMITED.
Nelly Ford-Attia
Lead Interpreter
Based in Oxford, Nelly is currently studying English and Spanish at the University of Oxford. Her deep-seated passion for Spanish-speaking cultures, developed since age 11, informs her academic focus on 20th-century Latin American literature, gender politics, and popular culture.

As a central member of the festival team, Nelly has played a key role in bridging cultures by interpreting live Q&A sessions from Spanish to English. Her ability to translate complex artistic dialogues in real-time has been essential to the festival's mission of accessibility and cultural exchange.

Nelly is an active member of the “Queen’s Translation Exchange,” where she has organized roundtables with renowned translators and served as a student judge for the 2025 and 2026 Anthea Bell Prize. Her professional experience includes tutoring English to Spanish-speaking adults and collaborating with the Universidad del Norte in Colombia to archive the personal collection of the late historian Malcolm Deas, a project that successfully integrated 3,000 titles into the university’s library. Through her linguistic expertise and dedication, Nelly continues to foster meaningful connections between the UK and the Spanish-speaking world.
